Scissor car lifts are designed for vertical movement of vehicles. Such equipment is convenient for use in dealer car centers, underground garages and multi-level parking lots, and at car service stations.
Design features of scissor car lifts
Scissor car lifts include the following elements:
- The load platform is used for placing vehicles. Its surface can be metal or have a rubber coating. Additionally, platforms can be equipped with handrails and canopies. For safe operation of the lift, the platform is equipped with signal traffic lights that indicate an incorrect position of the car. In this case, sensors are triggered and the movement of the lift will be blocked.
- Scissor levers move the load platform. Each pair of such levers (outer and inner) is pivotally connected.
- Hydraulic cylinders are needed to convert the hydraulic energy of the oil flow into mechanical energy. They actuate the scissor levers. The design of a car lift, as a rule, uses several hydraulic cylinders.
- The hydraulic station ensures the operability of the lift. It includes an oil tank, a pump for supplying oil to the hydraulic cylinders, and an electric motor that drives the pump.
- The base is necessary for fixing the car lift at its place of operation.
- Presence sensors under the platform. They turn off the lift if an obstacle is detected under it when the platform is lowered.
- Remote control for the lift's electric motor and the movement of the load platform. The remote control can be wired or wireless. Control is also possible via a smartphone application.
